Can't start Stepmania as 'normal' user

As the title says I can't launch stepmania with my normal user, but if I launch it in another tty as root it starts.

I'm already in the games group and the console output just shows this:

And won't start, I need to kill the process 'cause nothing else happens.

Any idea?

Does it have a "games" group and are in this group?

Otherwise I don't know. Can't remember having that problem with stepmania.

Yes, my user is in the games group, and the executable stepmania is in the games group too!
