[SOLVED] libtirpc 0.2.2-3 makes it unable to login

After the installation of libtirpc 0.2.2-3 (and a reboot) I cannot login to gnome anymore. If I click an account the password input field does niet appear.
Login in from a tty gives me: login incorrect after entering the username. It is also not possible to login with root.

Same issue here....I had to boot off of an Arch USB install I had handy, mount /dev /proc and /sys onto my real install, chroot in and downgrade libtirpc

Back up and running now.

You can also boot to single user mode and install from the pacman cache if you haven't cleared it.

Re: [SOLVED] libtirpc 0.2.2-3 makes it unable to login

Just noticed that libtirpc 0.2.2-3 has been removed.  I think the pkgrel should be updated to -4 so that people who have upgraded and not yet rebooted can be helped w/o having to crash and burn.  My issues started as soon as my screen locked.  (i.e. before a reboot)

Thanks for this thread.  I was locked out of my machine, and saw this when running a LiveCD.  Your post let me know just how I needed to fix it.  smile
