Audacity crashes when i try to record from Logitech quicam

Hi, this is actually a two in onw question. Fiesr i have a logitech quica, 4000 pro. It used to work with pwc which i had to compile myself as the one from the repository doesn't work for me. However even that does'nt work any more i don't know why. I just get a grey window. I have tried recompiling pwc and it still hasn't worked.

Does anyone own my type of webcam which is working? If so which driver package are you using? Getails will help please.

Secondly when my webcam was working, when i click on the the record button on audacity, it crashes with the error:

Pa_SetupDeviceFormat: warning - requested sample rate = 96000 Hz - closest = 44100
Pa_SetupDeviceFormat: HW does not support 96000 Hz sample rate
Pa_SetupDeviceFormat: warning - requested sample rate = 96000 Hz - closest = 44100
Pa_SetupDeviceFormat: HW does not support 96000 Hz sample rate
PaHost_WatchDogProc: killing hung audio thread!
Killed

When i reduce the rate it still crashes anyway. I will appreciate your help. Thanx all.

A good friend will come and bail you out of jail...BUT a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, "Damn...that was fun!"
