I'm trying to install arch an efi board (AsusF2A85-M LE) with 16G ram.
I can boot from de latest arch cd (2012.11.01) by appending mem=4G to the efi kernel line, but where do I put mem=4G for the rEFInd bootloader to work?
thanks

What happens when you put mem=16G?
It will be required to use the 64-bit kernel.

I may have to CONSOLE you about your usage of ridiculously easy graphical interfaces...
Look ma, no mouse.

mem=4G is only required for kernel 3.6.4 on a pc with AMD CPU.
Kernel 3.6.4 is on the cd 2012.11.01, so there the parameter is required. But during a installation, you get a newer kernel (currently 3.6.6-1).
So booting after the installation should work without mem=4G .

mem=4G is the only option to start from install cd.

A other option is to use the ISO from last month.

There is a bug in kernel 3.6.4 ( fixed in 3.6.5 ) that stops the kernel from booting on AMD machines unless mem is set to 4G or lower... I'm surprised they released a snapshot at kernel 3.6.4...
use the previous ISO or wait for the next

SOLVED
The instructions in the beginners guide wiki are unclear concerning the naming of the kernel and initramfs files. This is clear in the UEFI bootloaders wiki.
thanks for the help
