X crashes on start with nvidia SLI

I decided to install Linux on my desktop. First time installing Arch, but I'm reasonably experienced with Linux.

I have 2 NVidia GTX 580 cards in SLI running on an i7 system with an Asus Rampage 4 motherboard. (X79 chipset) - I also have two monitors.

I installed arch, X and the nvidia proprietary driver 304.64 via pacman. After a reboot I try running 'startx' without a config file to see if it works. It crashes on startup with a floating point exception inside nvidia_drv.so. Here's what the xorg log says about it:

I tried the most recent Ubuntu live CD and X is not working on that either.

Any ideas?

Re: X crashes on start with nvidia SLI

So, it would appear this is an issue with either multi-monitor, or my specific monitor. One of my monitors is a Hazro HZ27WB (2560x1440) - it's connected as secondary because it can't display my Bios/POST screens if I have it as the primary.

If I disconnect this monitor, X starts.
