Hi,
After recent update, including xorg-server 1.13.0-4, I have problems with fonts rendering. Some characters change, for example, 'p ' replaced with '*' so /opt I see as /o*t. Changing to another font, other problems occur with other characters. This happens in xfce terminal and in python tk application. After rolling back to xorg-server 1.13.0-3, the problem gone.
I use patched font packages: cairo-ubuntu 1.12.2-4, fontconfig-ubuntu 2.10.1-3, freetype2-ubuntu 2.4.10-1 from AUR.
The problem begins not just after login, but after some time passed and some typing done in terminal. It can happen after resize of terminal window, some characters then replaced with garbage or other characters. The garbage also appears in the title of logout window of xfce.
Looked in testing forum, tried to install harfbuzz-git from AUR. No help.
Anton

It would appear this is the same topic linked by fritz. I am going to go ahead and close this thread.
