Re: [drm] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: 0x7374: i2c rd fail: -6

Hi

I had the same problem on a Dell Latitude E6520. The problem is that this model has two video-cards. The Intel for low performance and the Nvidia for high performance. It seems the problem is that Linux isn't very good at switching between the Intel video card and the NVIDIA video card.

I solved it by disabeling the Nvidia video-card and only use the Intel video-card.

I disabled the Nvidia card by blacklisting the nouveau driver and then I installed the xf86-video-intel driver so I could use the Intel video-card.

This is not ideal but I didn't find a way to use both video-cards and switch between them. I also read somewhere, that you cannot disable the Intel video-card and only use the Nvidia video-card.

This isn't a clear answer and no real solution but maybe it'll give you some ideas.

Thanks Dolmio ! i do the same thing that you, and that work fine.

I well wait until linux implements this switching function.
