Blinking messages on toolbar

I use Gaim on fluxbox. I hate how when someone messages me the window icon on the toolbar won't blink. I know I can tell Gaim to put a little * or a # in the window when I've been messaged, but that's not enough to make me notice. Many times I forget I'm talking to someone when their response doesn't give me a reminder to come back to the conversation. Is there a way to get fluxbox to make the toolbar icon related to gaim blink when I get a message? (Like what AIM does in windows)

Yeah, I've been looking for that too. I haven't found any DE/WM that does that so far, tho.

xfce does it out of the box. i believe that gnome (metacity) can also do it with some 3rd-party patch.

metacity and gnome-panel don't support blinking, instead it glows on the gnome panel when there's someone talking to you.

Re: Blinking messages on toolbar

I use Xfce4 which can do blinking, but the blinking annoys me to death. So instead have Gaim insert the count of new messages in the title string.
