Hey out there!
I have this little problem, i have just installed linux on of my machines and well that's just great, then i was going to update it and used pacman -Suy but it failed to connect to all the ftp. servers. then i treid to ping my router, but that didn't work, then i treid to ping my access point and that was fin, i run on dhcp and it get's it ip from the router just fine, but it can't connect to it in any other way. How can it be.
It's a big problem when i have installed the base installation and can't install new programs
The connection works on my windows machine, so it isn't the connection that's the problem
Please help someone[/i]

Is it possible that your router is setup to filter by MAC address and you haven't set up the proper permissions for the new machine? You mentioned an access point...is the machine a laptop? Are you using wireless?
