Ati Radeon no HDMI output

Hi,

I'm on a hybrid-graphics Intel/Ati HP dv6 and I'm trying to connect the HDMI video output to my LED TV, but xrandr doesn't recognize that video output.

$ xrandr --prop                                                                                                                                       ~

Re: Ati Radeon no HDMI output

have you set the "radeon.audio" kernel parameter to "1" as it is explained in the wiki?

Re: Ati Radeon no HDMI output

Sorry for posting in old topic, but I have the same problem with my Radeon HD 5650. Xrandr:

Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1366 x 768, maximum 8192 x 8192
LVDS2 connected 1366x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 309mm x 174mm
   1366x768 60.0*+ 40.0
   1024x768 60.0
   800x600 60.3 56.2
   640x480 59.9
VGA2 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)

Any ideas how to enable HDMI output?

Re: Ati Radeon no HDMI output

Nothing?!?! Ok *thinking* ... Do you use the open source driver (xf86-video-ati in the repos) for your ati card or the catalyst driver (available in the AUR)?

Just for comparison, I use the open source driver and here's my output:

So you see, it's VERY strange if you don't have any output (if you use the oss driver). I don't know what dmesg shows if catalyst is being used though.

Re: Ati Radeon no HDMI output

According to your dmesg output, you don't have an ati card, but an intel card (i915). So deinstall xf86-video-ati and install xf86-video-intel.

edit: Or please show the output of lspci
