Screen + IRSSI causing weird error message

When I start irssi in a screen session "screen irssi" or remount a screen session with irssi in it "screen -r" I get this message:

Could not write /var/run/utmp: No such process

It doesn't happen all the time and my screen and irssi still runs fine but I'm just wondering what it is or if there is a way to fix this?
