I was also having this problem.
chromium 23.0.1271.64-1
nvidia drivers 310.19-2
xfwm4 4.10.0-2
Downgrading these packages and rebooting fixed the problem.
pixman (0.28.0-1 => 0.26.2-1)
cairo (1.12.8-2 => 1.12.6-2)
xorg-server (1.13.0-4 => 1.13.0-3)

has anyone filed a bug report?
Is it a chromium or pixman problem?
Offline
Well here's the bug report for pixman:

I also reported the bug upstream for Chromium, but this is a xorg-server issue.

Same issue here, along with the others. Just assumed something wonky was happening with nvidia binary + 3 monitors (multiple monitors seems to always cause the best problems) For once i'm not alone.

Up to date Arch system here Nov 24th and problem still persists. Awaiting updates to pixman, cairo, xorg I guess....

According to https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topi … che-patch/ - the guy responsible for the pixman patch is a nvidia guy - yell in there if you want faster action.

It's one month and still no action?
I would downgrade, but an older version of xf86-input-evdev causes problems with touchpad.

Hooray! Looks like we've got acknowledgment: https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topi … h/#3717024

Isn't that guy that acknowledge just another user?
The moderator, applatner, says he still can't reproduce it.
Offline
Well there are two problems: a crash and corruption. applatner said he reproduced the latter and he has a fix.

I had the corruption/transparency issue using:
Chromium 23.0.1271.95 (169798)
Nvidia 310.19
Xorg 1.13.0-4
resolved it by downgrading Xorg to 1.13.0-3
really hope this is resolved soon & that the backport the fix to nvidia 304

Earlier today, I updated my computer, and now the problem seems to be solved!

[2012-12-09 14:59] upgraded harfbuzz (0.9.7-1 -> 0.9.9-1)
[2012-12-09 14:59] upgraded pango (1.32.3-1 -> 1.32.4-1)
[2012-12-09 14:59] upgraded xorg-server-common (1.13.0-4 -> 1.13.0.902-2)
[2012-12-09 14:59] upgraded xorg-server (1.13.0-4 -> 1.13.0.902-2)

Yes, I can confirm Grima's discovery: upgrading xorg packages (1.13.0.902-2) seems to solve the problem.

confirm! Last update solved the problem

It's not a perfect fix yet, I think. The change in xorg-server was just to "disable glyph caching again - fixes nvidia blob and vmware systems."

Is this issue still here (using latest xorg-server and pixman)?
I'm still experience grayish tab title text in chromium under gma500_gfx driver.
Offline
I'm still seeing it, running xorg-server 1.14.1-1
