OK, I thought this would be simple as I understand (More or less) how pam works. However, I have a 7 yr old that, for obvious reasons, doesn't want to have a password size over 8 characters; he has one that is 4 and that is perfect for him. I even showed him how to use uppercase and lowercase letters for a little better security.
However, the KDE password change function in Control Center wont allow him to have a 4 char password; he needs an 8 char password.
So, I took a look at the pam passwd file and the line that stipulates the password size
#password required pam_cracklib.so difok=2 minlen=8 dcredit=2 ocredit=2 retry=3
is commented out. Is the 8 char. minimum length a default setting, or should I specify minlen=4 and uncomment that line?
Thanks!!!
