Correct use of yaourt -C

Hi,

I just saw that yaourt has an option to handle pacsave and pacnew files.

However, how does this work exactly?

I tried to use it with the latest update of pacman mirrorlist.

yaourt -C provided me with the options EDIT, REPLACE, SUPPRESS, ABORT.

Choosing EDIT I was asked for vimdiffviewer which I do not have installed at the moment.

So, am I right that yaourt -C does not merge pacsave and pacnew automatically but basically only opens a diff viewer for me?

Re: Correct use of yaourt -C

The very fact that you seriously thought yaourt could/would do this is startling.

Automerging of pac{new, save} files? In what universe would that be a sane concept?

Re: Correct use of yaourt -C

Neither would I automerge my pacfiles. It was just that I have read somewhere that sounds as if yaourt would exactly do that.

I will try to find the source again. In any case, good to know now that yaourt apparently does not do that.
