[SOLVED] Can I use the old August install medium to install Arch?

I want to use the old install medium released on 2012.08.04 since a CD-ROM of August snapshot is available for me.
Version 2012.12.01 of arch's install and rescue medium is available now.
Is the August snapshot still usable for installing?
Is it harmful to use the old install medium?

Problem is solved.
A new Arch was installed on my laptop, and the old medium worked fine.

I would say yes.  But you may want to make sure the mirrorlist is still okay (it should be, as my mirrorlist hasn't changed dramatically for some time).  All the proper tools for installing are there, maybe different versions, but they will still achieve the same thing.  Though, I wonder if pacman would need to be updated.... in any case I don't think ti has been long enough for pacman to not be updateable if it does need to be.

You can still use it to install, however you should read the arch linux latest news since then and follow any necessary manual updates.

Yes, I have been using an install disk from August and it has been working just fine.

just one word: systemd

and then ask yourself - systemd?

then get your hand dirty with the latest release...

happy systemd'ing

The August boot media will install systemd.  When you install the system using pacstrap, the computer grabs the latest image from the mirror list.  And as long as there hasn't been any major changes to the mirror list, which there hasn't, it will install just fine.

Thanks for your replies.
Arch has been installed on my laptop and the August medium works fine.
Systemd was installed when I install the system using pacstrap, and there seems no additional steps or other problems.
