XFCE4 fails to start after recent upgrade

Hi there,

After recent upgrade XFCE4 fails to start with the following message:

xauth: timeout in locking authority file /home/myusername/.Xauthority

.Xauthority file is empty and has superuser -rw------- permissions

The permissions are wrong.  On my machine it looks like this

ls -l .Xauthority 
-rw------- 1 skunk skunk 333 Oct 22  2011 .Xauthority

The usual reason is that you started X with su

Sorry -- I wrote incorrectly permissions and the original post is corrected now.

And no, I did not start X as a superuser -- I started it as a regular user.
