I have the aforementioned laptop, and I've discovered the sd card reader can be found in lspci with this entry
03:00.0 Unassigned class [ff00]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. Device 5289 (rev 01)
But it does not pop up in the dmesg output when a card is inserted, nor does it appear under fdisk.
Can anyone tell me how to enable this sd card reader?
EDIT: Apparently this card has a driver provided under the AUR package dkms-rts_bpp. Now I just need to test it, and see what the your kernel headers could not be found error is about. If anyone knows... I'll edit this tomorrow with solved if I've fixed it, need to sleep

Had the same problem with my Clevo P150em, someone on IRC just happened to find this thread and point me to it.
Just install linux-headers and then re-install the dkms-rts_bpp package from the AUR. Reboot and everything should work well.

Thank you! I needed the reader again, and this worked perfectly.

# EDIT 1 #
Just had a look at the launchpad bug report for this (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … bug/971876), and it still seems to have some problems...however for me using a SanDisk MicroSD in an SD adapter, its fine
# EDIT 2 #
Just wanted to say that with Kernel 3.17 my SD card reader is working perfectly.
