Hi!
In my mkinitcpio.conf the hooks line used to read thus:
HOOKS="base udev autodetect pata scsi sata mdadm lvm2 filesystems"
with the new mkinitcpio should I leave mdadm and lvm2? The comments in the new file do mention lvm2 but do not refer to mdadm.

You should be using mdadm_udev lvm2 - assuming, that is, that you are running a LVM/Raid setup...

Thanks for the note jasonwryan
I did attempt the hooks with mdadm and lvm2 which worked and also mdadm_udev lvm2 which also worked fine.

in mkinitcpi.conf now:
HOOKS="base udev autodetect block mdadm_udev lvm2 filesystems"
and it works
