Arch VM shutdown problems [SOLVED]

I've got my arch VM up and running perfectly aside from one small issue that I can't troubleshoot. It takes forever to shutdown, it just sits at the login in TTY before a message flashes after a few minutes that I've only been able to catch "Giving up" from. I'm guessing it's an unmounting issue. Are shutdown messages logged anywhere? I used to put "bash" at the end of an rc file (i think), but that was there before systemd, to keep the screen up so I could read them. I can't remember what file it was/if it still is existent since systemd became preferred.

Thanks!
