Title says all. And it doesn't even need to be a file dialog from Chromium itself. If I trigger a file dialog elsewhere, Chromium also crashes. I only have a slightest idea that it has something to do with GTK+ (or with oxygen-gtk), but that's all I've got.
Any ideas?

Run it from a terminal and check the output. If you suspect the gtk engine, well then, try changing to another engine.
"open source is about choice"
No.
Open source is about opening the source code complying with this conditions, period. The ability to choose among several packages is just a nice side effect.

So, I just ran the gtk-kde4 kcm module and the theme field was empty for some reason. Just selecting a theme (oxygen-gtk, if that matters) seems to have solved my issue.
