It runs for me very smoothly but my machine is a i7-2600K with 8 GB of RAM ans a Nvidia 1536 MB 580 GTX graphics card. Remember to turn anti-aliasing down to 1x because brings the game to a crawl if you run it at 16x.

Did you play chapter 5? Also the slow-down problem is a known problem.

No haven't reached that point yet in the game. I know that there is a crash problem there. But there is a new patch for the game that fixes that.

Check the config files in /.config/Vessel/ in your home directory.

That is not what I meant and chapter 5 is not orchard chapter 5. What I meant is, that you might not experience a slow-down, until you get to chapter 5. Also, the crash is fixed.

OK, I just entered the Orchard and I had slowdowns are the beginning of the level until I reached the first puzzle.
