[solved...sortof]kernel upgrade breaks system

Hi, I am unable to log in to arch in any way after doing a system upgrade.

The kernel was upgraded along with a couple of other things and I now cant start X, nor get to a tty.

My target was graphical at first, then I used an install disc to disable graphical and enable multi-user.target.

multi-user.target presents me with a blank black screen
graphical.target presents me with a blank blue screen (the blue from LXDM) which flashes some boots.

Im using the xf86-video-ati driver, Will try and downgrade kernel now.

Yes, nothing much there

journalctl --since=yesterday

gave me just a couple of these:

Dec 15 12:35:13 jason-pc lxdm-binary[232]: pam_systemd(lxdm:session): Failed to connect to system bus: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply,

Re: [solved...sortof]kernel upgrade breaks system

getting this is journalctl

Dec 16 21:59:02 jason-pc login[222]: pam_systemd(login:session): Failed to connect to system bus: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

Here is what I have tried so far:
rerunning:

mkinitcpio -p linux

pacmatic -S linux dbus systemd

and I have tired removing X and my ati driver and changing targets, still just freeze when I should be getting a login prompt

So it looks like this is just me, found nothing anywhere else about this, what could have caused this? I dont want to format right away, Id rather first find out what the problem is, If anyone could help me Id really appretiate it

Just to check: did you merge any .pacnew files? (E.g. mkinitcpio.conf.pacnew.)

And with that, I have just booted 3.6.10-1 successfully with an ATI 4000 or 5000 series card.

Apparently kernel 3.6.10-1 doesnt like my ATI powercolor 6950

Re: [solved...sortof]kernel upgrade breaks system

How did you get to boot into tty successfully?

Between me (Freddy Krueger) and Arch Linux, I think Arch Linux is scarier,
and it will give you baddest nightmare in your life, if you failed to configure it right..
