Canon Powershot S1 IS not work

i use gtkam and with other distros , the camrea work OK, but with archlinux nop

i tried by commands and say me that:



gphoto2 -T

All cameras I have ever used always turn up as external disks that you must mount. After plugging in the camera try:

fdisk -l

as root and see if the camera is detected. If it is you have to mount it first I guess. If you're using gnome, you could install gnome-volume-manager to have the mounting done automatically.

One more thing, if you want the output of anything in English (for example, if you'd want to to post error messages you get, here), you could always run stuff with

LANG="en_US" $command

i think it's a kernel problem

i tried the camera with other distros, suse 10.0, ubuntu breazy, archlinux and NOT work sad

the three distros have a 2.6.13 kernel


i test the camera with suse 9.3 (with a older kernel) or ubuntu hoary and works ok


now the only way to download the photos from my camera it's with windows xp (vmware)  :cry:
