Bluetooth seems running fin but hcitool scan has no results

The blootooth has been running fine for me for a while, but recently as I ws trying to use it it did not work again.

I have run out of clues now I am trying to downgrade bluez but does not seem to help much

[mulan@HP4520sNotebook ~]$ hciconfig
hci0:	Type: BR/EDR Bus: USB
BD Address: 70:F3:95:A6:ED:42 ACL MTU: 310:10 SCO MTU: 64:8
	UP RUNNING PSCAN ISCAN
	RX bytes:1777 acl:0 sco:0 events:87 errors:0
	TX bytes:1592 acl:0 sco:0 commands:78 errors:0
[mulan@HP4520sNotebook ~]$ hcitool dev
Devices:
	hci0	70:F3:95:A6:ED:42

Also one think that might or may not be related... I use powertop and I noticed that even though I tried to swith everithing from good to bad I cannot switch this  row to bad:

   Good Bluetooth device interface status

please help smile

Please, bluez seems quite complicated for me when have tried to look into it...

At least tell me how do I debug those things to get to some info that could direct me to the problem

Re: Bluetooth seems running fin but hcitool scan has no results

I don't think you are posting enough information to give any indication as to where you should go from here.  I have never actually made any real use of my bluetooth, so I just set it up, and the output of my working bluetooth is the same as your non-working bluetooth (that is hciconfig and hcitool).  The only other things I can think of would be the need to unblock (rfkill, though I think this would result in a "device not available" message) or simply scouring your logs to find something relevent.

In any case, you need to give some better indication as to what could have possibly changed in your system, or something to help us help you.

What you mean by it not working would be a start. I get the same output, like WonderWoofy. What do you expect it to say? What are you trying to do with bluetooth which isn't working?
