installing PCSX2 from AUR

Hi, i want to install pcsx2 amulator from aur, but yaourt finds unresolved dependencies:

Multilib will provide both architectures, according to this thread.

I guess that doesn't fully answer your question though.

Is not a phone; is impossible to brick a pc, maybe break your os, but not brick it...
...okay, okay if you are doing something like flashing your bios, yeah, you could brick it like that, but you can't brick it by screwing your archlinux packages. In the worst case, you'll have to boot the live cd and do some chrooting to fix stuff.

Anyway, answering your question, yes, its okay to replace gcc related packages with their equivalent from multilib.

No.
Open source is about opening the source code complying with this conditions, period. The ability to choose among several packages is just a nice side effect.

Yea, i got the idea. I just don't want to spend hours fixing my os.

Anyway, i'm going to find out, if it really was a safe choice smile
