November 2005 Arch Screenshots

Guidelines
Pretty simple · DO NOT post full resolution screenshots!  You can use the "mogrify" command (pacman -S imagemagick) to make a thumbnail of your screenshot:

$ cp screenie.png thumb-screenie.png
$ mogrify -resize 20% thumb-screenie.png

Twenty percent of the original size is great for 1024x768 screenies.  You can then upload these images to your server and use the following code to show them on the forum:

This displays the thumbnail as a link to the screenie like this:

thumb-screenie.png

· If you do not have your own upload space you can upload to http://art.archlinux.org and link your shot here (with text) for discussion

· Several websites also offer free image hosting, of these  ImageShack is very popular and does a neat auto thumbnail:

You should use the "Thumbnail for forums (1)" link code that is supplied to post here smile

· Once the new month begins please do not post new screenies in the old threads!

Screenshot I took to demonstate the difference between screen's caption line and hardstatus line.  That's a full-screen screen (lol), ratpoison and rxvt-unicode running screen with bash (top) and weechat (bottom).

Phrak:  why on earth would you do that?  It's not like the old thread is gone or anything.  Are you that desparate to show your screenie?  I have some bleach wallpapers in the process by the way...

Heh, well, because you unstickied the old one and threw this one on top.  Most people are going to use the new one.

Thats why we put the November screenshot thread up now and left the old one (unstickied, stickied, tarred, slippery <<whatever the hell is going on at the present>>) up so people can still post according to their timezones.
So don't be a scared, post them 8)

Very nice screen shot zaqrack!  Looks like you spent a lot of time tweaking things to all fit in together...

I have that same background image only in white. Where did you get the green from?
