Why is ftp.archlinux.org so slow all the sudden?

Down from 400+ KB/s to 40 or less in less than a day, and staying that way! What happened? Was there a sudden, vast jump in the number of users or something?

maybe Judd got tired of paying for bandwidth cause people wouldn't listen to the "please use a mirror closer to you" request?

It seems to be happening intermittently for me.  A few days ago, a system upgrade (only 3 or 4 files including a new kernel) started fine but during the kernel download, the server started slowing down, then totally stalled for a little while.

Tried again about 45 minutes later and the upgrade went fine.

Hmm geez taht explains why the servers are slow sometimes. I think Judd should somehow limited the download speed to like 35k/b on atleast ftp.

There are plenty of good mirrors out there... I'm a Pacific Internet user myself. Not their ISP, their very good file mirror
