Hello,
I started a thread on an issue that was troubling me. I found a solution that was good enough, but the thread i started was about a more general problem that is unsolved and now i dont really care about solving it.
I don't want to waste peoples time.
What should i do to that thread?
Thank you!

If it is old, leave it be.
If it is relatively recent and you have more information that might help others with the issue as stated then append that to the thread with a note that you are no longer actively pursuing a solution.

Will do. Thanks

Also, should i mark the thread as anything? (for example [solved])

I would only mark it solved if there was a working solution. Think of people who find the thread via a search engine; they are much more likely to click through if [Solved] is prepended to the title, imagine their reaction of the thread does not include a relevant solution...
