Cannot sync ABS...

That's a couple of time that i cannot sync abs tree anymore... every time i try (at every hour) i always get something like that:

[root@CiciulO ~]# abs
Connected to cvs.archlinux.org
Inactivity timeout
Connected to cvs.archlinux.org
Inactivity timeout

I've tried also with my laptop with the same results...
what can i do to solve this??

its probably the servers - give it time...

MMMh... it's not the server, there are more than 3 weeks that i cannot sync abs and i get the same error when i try to read newsgroup with my newsreader: "inactivity timeout"... while a lot of friends of mine can read the same newsgroup without any problem.

inactivity timeout... sounds like your ISP is killing your connection after a time... check your modem setting for something like "keep-alive" and turn that on

For sure there is something wrong with my internet connection, anyway i cannot set anything with my modem just because i don't have any modem ... all i can do is to phone to the ISP customer care and try to explain what doesn't work to someone that cannot uderstand anything of what i'm saying and so on...

thanx, abs started to work again after a while, i didn't change anything, anyway i'm sure that someone other may find it usefull )

Np, happy to see you found a solution. Just for the record - maybe someday someone else will need it - I produced a small patch, which will be implemented in the next pacman release, if anyone wants it, it can be found here.
