Dolby Home Theater

I was wondering if anyone has any idea on how to get the same sound quality in Linux as I do in windows. I have an Acer Aspire 3830TG TimelineX laptop, everything is working, including sound. The main annoyance I have is that if I am in windows, the sound out of the integrated speakers are 100x better than what works with ALSA in Linux. I know there are a lot of laptops that have the "Professionally Tuned" Dolby Home theater speakers ingratiating now, and was wondering if anyone has gotten the sound quality better than what ALSA will provide.

Re: Dolby Home Theater

For ALSA, see if this helps:

Also consider using an equalizer:

And lastly you can consider switching to OSS instead; however, I don't know if it will necessarily give better quality.
