Two questions about XFCE

Hi, I use SLiM and XFCE. Google did not help me, so here I have two questions:
1)What do xfce4-power-manager use to suspend/hibernate? There are upower and DPMS in dependences. When I resume from suspend to ram, power manager says that it's "not authorized" (but everything is OK). When I resume from suspend to disk (hibernation), laptop resume and then shuts down. I think something is wrong with hooks, but I don't know whether it uses pm-utils.
2)I have Optimus laptop. When I tried to watch video from Youtube in fullscreen (Chrome with it's flash pepper plugin) the tearing appears. If I disable effects (in advanced windows options) everything looks ok. Can I edit rules to have effects on my laptop and no tearing in flash videos?

Re: Two questions about XFCE

Uh, tearing is caused by XRender instead openGL.

Re: Two questions about XFCE

The tearing is a fairly well known "feature" in XFCE. I'm not sure whether it's going to be fixed anytime soon, but I've used this patch to work around it. It's not perfect either, but it works.

Re: Two questions about XFCE

Do you experience same screen tearing using firefox ?

I ask because I get tearing in chrome / chromium, but not in firefox.

Re: Two questions about XFCE

I will not use Firefox in any case. And old flash too.

Re: Two questions about XFCE

Yes, I too hate that "old" non-tearing flash.

I'm out & good luck.
