Installing HP Deskjet 3050 but can't connect to CUPS server

This printer sets up and works in Win7 Kubuntu and Sabyon but I am stuck trying to get it working in ARCH.

Running from HP Device Manager it fails to connect to CUPS sever and asks if user in in sys group (yes). hp-setup gets the same result running in a terminal both as root and named user. Localhost:631 finds the first CUPS screen but when I try to find a printer it states none found, although HP device manager does find it.

I have tried following other similar posts but the solutions there have no effect on my problem. I am thinking it may be related to some premission issues for CUPS or localhost. Has anybody had this and resolved it?

Im having the same problem with the same exact printer. It worked just fine in Ubuntu 12.04lts, maybe its a hardware compatiblity issue
