Synaptics Touchpad & Kernel 2.6.14

I have a problem getting my Touchpad to work with the synaptics driver and kernel 2.6.14. Everything works fine with kernel 2.6.13.2 but the new kernel obviously introduces some problems. I get as kernel message nothing special.
Here is kernel 2.6.13.2

Synaptics Touchpad, model: 1, fw: 5.6, id: 0x9244b1, caps: 0x80471b/0x0
input: SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad on isa0060/serio4
psmouse.c: TouchPad at isa0060/serio4/input0 lost sync at byte 1

2.6.14 throws exactly the same.
But when I start Xorg the synaptics driver for xorg tells me it doesnt find any /dev/input/event* node.
Is anyone else experiencing this kind of problem?
Thanks for input...

make sure you have the evdev module loaded. At least, I think this has to do with it. I'm using 2.6.14 + synaptic without problems.

Re: Synaptics Touchpad & Kernel 2.6.14

Yup. That was it. I just compiled it into the kernel - now it works great. Thanks again for the help. Cheers,
