So in this thread i have two problems which need solving and i'm sure they are siimple enough. I have looked through the arch wiki aswell as googling but i cannot find any specific answer. The first problem which is really annoying is the face that i have to manually launch libreoffice using sudo, this means i am unable to load up any documents straight from my folder. Also my user has no permission to write or delete to my "/home/josh" folder, looked at chmod and chown, but last time i did this, it fucked everything up. Any advice is apreciated. Sorry for being such a newb, but i'm learning.

For your $HOME permissions, see if this helps:
Solved. To anyone who might stumble accross this thread, sudo chown -R josh /home/josh/ solved it. The error code for this was
[Java framework] Error in function createSettingsDocument (elements.cxx). javaldx failed! Warning: failed to read path from javaldx terminate called after throwing an instance of 'com::sun::star::uno::RuntimeException'
Don't use 'sudo' to launch graphical apps, it may mess up your home dir permissions. use gksu, kdesu, sux, or equivalent.
