This one is pretty hard to reproduce for me. I'll try to fix this as soon as I figure out what causes this bug smile

Re: Lyvi - command-line lyrics (and more!) viewer

Hi OK100, lyvi-daemon mode works great.Many thanks.

Also, lyvi works great with mpg123. but it is not reading the previously saved lyrics from .lyrics
folder. It is fetching it from internet. Is lyrics saving in .lyrics folder not possible with mpg123?

also, can you add support for mpg321 (available in aur). It's a brother of mpg123 with support for
frontends, shell
scripts).

If i come across more players I will let you know.

Lyric saving with mpg123 is not supported yet, but lyvi has a cache for all downloaded metadata at ~/.local/share/lyvi/metadata.db.

That's really amazing! I have a few notes but overally it seems great.

  • Maybe you can use some application like key-mon (available in AUR) to show what keys are you pressing

  • Could you also show some other features like mouse support (clickable statusbar) and player control?

  • I noticed a few typos

By the way, what app are you using to take the screencast?
Thanks!

Re: Lyvi - command-line lyrics (and more!) viewer

Hya

im using ffcast2 (in AUR) for the video and open shot for the audio/editing

i will include all the features you've asked and get rid of the typos (the text on screen was for the alpha version) i will use nicer text OSD in the 'final' version

ok will try to get it done during this weekend if kids will let me ;-)

Re: Lyvi - command-line lyrics (and more!) viewer

Hya again

i seem to be missing something, sometimes (its rare but it happens) Lyvi will find lyrics that are wrong. I cant seem to find a way to 'refresh'/manually select the lyrics. can I add in a request to refetch or manually select a lyric source? would that be techniclly possible?

thx alot

Re: Lyvi - command-line lyrics (and more!) viewer

Presumably you need the ubuntu equivalent of the python2-glyr-git package.  And python2.

You need to install required python modules (python-glyr, python-dbus and python-imaging). Python-glyr is probably not packaged in ubuntu so you have to install it manually (see http://sahib.github.com/python-glyr/int … installing for instructions).

It works here, even with local images. Does it happen with other players than mpd? Please run lyvi with "-d" switch and post here debug file.

Re: Lyvi - command-line lyrics (and more!) viewer

Ok...

so i found out the issue...i never noticed the lyvi and lyvi-git had different rc file names (why btw?):
~/.config/lyvi/lyvi.conf (~/.config/lyvi/rc for stable version)

after switching from rc to lyvi.conf it works again. ive always used git so i dunno why it stopped working all of a sudden
