Brightness control on Acer Aspire V3-551G-8454 does not work

Hey.. it's me again.

This time I'm having problems with controlling my laptop's screen brightness.

What I have tried:
- Brightness fn keys
- Enlightenment17 widget
- xbacklight
- Editing the ACPI files in /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0 and /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video1 (dual graphics)
- Booting with acpi_osi=Linux and acpi_backlight=vendor/legacy
- setpci

I'm at a loss as to what to try next, and my eyes are in pain. Is there at least a way to change the color temp with the open source ati drivers?

echo N > /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness
where N is the number ranging from 0 to 7?

Also, please reply with output of the 'lspci -vv' command.

Yes, I tried this, as well as 

echo N | tee  /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness

I even looked inside another file, called actual_brightness, and it changed every time I changed the brightness file.

I have Acer Aspire V5-571 ultrabook and i had the same problem with brightness control.I installed acpi and acpid packages and edit handler.sh file in /etc/acpi.
Add this to the end of the handler.sh file:

After trying what Grobar87 suggested, my brightness keys do change the value in /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness, but the brightness of the actual display stil remains unchanged..
