[Solved] Hibernate Skip Boot Screen

I've configured the hibernation to work and all but I wasn't able to find anything on whether it is possible to skip the boot screen on a resume from hibernate.

I don't think this is possible (based on my understanding of hibernate), but I thought it was worth asking.

Thanks!

Re: [Solved] Hibernate Skip Boot Screen

The difference between hibernate and a regular boot is simply that instead of completing the cold boot, it instead loads the contents of the swap space into ram, which effectively puts the machine back in the same state as it was before (obviously).  So in other words, no you cannot change this, as you are still essentially booting the machine.

Though if what you mean by boot screen is the bootloader selection screen, you can set the timeout to zero and not see at least that portion of it.  Also, you could probably add quiet to the bootloader parameters to hide a vast majority of the boot messages.  But these things would also then be applied to a regular boot as well.

Re: [Solved] Hibernate Skip Boot Screen

That's pretty much exactly how I understood hibernation, but I wasn't fully sure if there was a way to change it. Thanks for the response! It's still slightly faster than a standard boot, but with an SSD it's hardly noticeable.
