ATI Mobility Radeon shared memory | How to allocate more?

I have an ATI Mobility Radeon HD4200 using 256 Mb of shared memory, on an HP425 notebook. As I have 4Gb of memory, I would like to know if there is anyway to reach the 512Mb of shared memory. My BIOS won't let me (I hate the HP bios), but I've read that the "vmalloc" parameter passed on the kernel may do the trick.

Also, then only reference I found on the forum hasn't reached far https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=48936

Thanks for your time!

You won't have any advantages by doing this. 256 MB are more than enough for a HD4200.

That sounds reasonable. Well, I just wanted to try, but it's okay too if I don't.

Thanks!
