Hey there!
I recently did something in GIMP and noticed weird artifacts and laggy behavior when using transformation tools. It’s hard to describe so here’s a video I made:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bct3xd6i3mw
I didn’t use GIMP for some time but I can’t remember seeing this artifacts and having such a laggy performance before. I tried a new GIMP profile (deleted ~/.gimp-2.8) and even a new user profile: Same results.
Do you have any ideas where to start with debugging? I searched de web and only found one old forum entry for a GIMP 2.8 RC 1 describing a similar but not identical problem.
Kind regards,
Dirk
There is already a bug report available. https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=674928 This doesn’t solve the problem, but it seems like no Arch specific problem.

It does the same thing on my system. Except the image stays broken like that and doesn't redraw cleanly when I move another window across. (Maybe because I use KWin and therefore real compositing?) ![]()
