Grub freezes at "Starting cmain()..."

Hello everyone.  I am having an issue with my grub install.  It was working fine and then it started freezing at: Starting cmain()...

I googled it and found that this is a bug.  It apparently has to do with having windows installed as well.  I am dual booting win 7 and arch.   I was unable to find a solution.  Do I need to reinstall grub from the cd? Maybe install grub from Super Boot manager from an Ubuntu live dvd?

My boot settings:
UEFI:  windows boot manager automatically boots first.  It hands off to Grub if I click "Arch Linux"
Grub loads and I get the "Starting cmain()... " error that lasts about a minute to a minute and a half.  I am on laptop so this wastes battery power.
Grub boots after getting past the error.

Does anyone know how to fix this error?

Re: Grub freezes at "Starting cmain()..."

I reinstalled and now I am dropped to the grub shell.  I guess grub is unable to load the config file?
