Linux Qualification for secondary schools? (UK, ages 11-16)

Hi,

I just started at a new school (I teach maths) and am thinking of starting up an afterschool club (or perhaps even a timetabled course if I get lucky) to introduce students to linux and open source software in general.

Realising that I might struggle to attract any interest amongst 1800 people who have never even heard of linux, I realised I needed some sort of hook.

I decided that offering some sort of CV friendly qualification might be a good idea. Problem is I don't have a clue where to look for one. Google has brought me to this which looks like a good idea, but I thought I'd see if anyone here has any comments or recommendations.

Most of the stuff I've found seems to be for universities with a focus on computer science students, I'm looking for a bare essentials course or certificate that would be appropriate for children to access.

Thanks for reading
