I recently got this arduino nano v3.0. http://dx.com/p/nano-v3-0-avr-atmega328 … ino-118037
I tested it under Ubuntu 12.04 and it worked flawlessly.
Pluging it into a ArchLinux laptop was different.
There should be a /dev/ttyUSBX device when the board is connected but nothing shows up.
I loaded modules ftdi_sio and cdc-acm, $ ls -Rla /dev > /tmp/output1, plugged the board in, $ ls -Rla /dev > /tmp/output2
$ diff /tmp/output1 /tmp/output2

If i plug the board without loading the above mentioned modules, only the 'usb 3-1: *' and 'hub 3-0:1.0: *' messages appear in dmesg. And the /dev diff yields nothing.
Any ideas?

Bad cable or buggy USB controller driver.
