GNOME w/ composite

I'm having trouble with GNOME while composite is enabled. The problem is that when logging out of GNOEM the normal dialog doesn't show up anymore. It just sits there and does nothing until you press enter or click where the box would normally be. Has anyone seen/solved this issue?

Re: GNOME w/ composite

Disable composite, if it is far from stable only nvidia cards seem to work for 95%...

Re: GNOME w/ composite

I assume you used xcompmgr to get the fancy effects - well, that's a dead piece of code from what  I hear, and left unstable as it is.
Basically, you have to shut down xcompmgr before leaving as it doesn't behave with gdm.

Apart from that, both xfce and kde provide their own composite manager, and for xfce at least, its rock solid.
But of course I am using nvidia :-)

I'm using nvidia also, but I've had more problems with the 7xxx driver series. Oh well, eye candy isn't all that important.
