Fan spins on maximum speed after suspend

Hej there,

since a couple of days my laptop fan spins at 100% speed after I wake up from standby. With a reboot everything is back to normal, but that's not really the point of standby, isn't it?

Unfortunately, I can't really find the problem. I downgraded to an old kernel of the days when it was wprking properly (3.7.3), but that didn't help.

What is a bit odd is, that I can't find anything controlling the fan. pwmconfig gives me an error:

/usr/sbin/pwmconfig: There are no pwm-capable sensor modules installed

I found various solutions to take care of the fan speed manually, but

/sys/class/hwmon/hwmon0/devices

doesn't exist for me, neither (the "devices" folder doesn't exist).

reloading the fan kernel module didn't help, as well.

Oh, and my laptop is an HP 6710b.

Does anybody have any suggestions on what I could try as well?

Cheers
Felix

Re: Fan spins on maximum speed after suspend

try this one https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 5#p1239445, it worked for me.

First, check which fan has 1 cur_state before suspending, and after resume, reset all except this one.
