Copying file to usb drive

Alright, I'm running Gnome 3.6, and whenever I copy a large file to a jumpdrive (usb2) in nautilus, it will instantly leap to say, 1.6gb of a 1.7gb file, then hang and drop the transfer rate from over 90MB/sec down to 19.0MB/sec until it gets to 0 seconds remaining, then it just hangs.

Any ideas/suggestions/fixes?

If you need more information, just let me know.  Thanks in advance!

Re: Copying file to usb drive

I've applied the fix mentioned, but the issue persists.  I've tried it with different jumpdrives on different ports using both usb2 and usb3, and yet the problem is still present.  Is there a method to debug usb read/write?

Re: Copying file to usb drive

How long does it take if you do it from a command line using cp and then using sync to ensure the transfer is complete?

Re: Copying file to usb drive

Copying a 1.7GB file using cp and sync to a usb2 jumpdrive just took 14 minutes
