[SOLVED] Too small disk, unable to boot.

It's me again, today I found out that I don't have enough space on hard drive! What? I have got 1000 gb drive and I checked in file manager... Says free space: 2,2 mb of 4 gb. Of 4 gb? I don't have computer from 90' sad how can I large the space? I want to use whole disk!

My cfdisk
sda2 boot primary ext4 999693,96

I have syslinux as my bootloader and XFCE as de.

Edit2: I can boot into Arch now by making /boot partition, but the disk is still too small.

/dev/sda1 outputs:
Df -h

/dev/sda1    472M     11M     438M    3%    /boot

Parted /dev/sda print

1   32,3 kb        511 mb          511 mb        primary      ext4

Fdisk -l

/dev/sda1                  63          997919         498928+       83      Linux

Re: [SOLVED] Too small disk, unable to boot.

You will need to provide a lot more information about your setup: please read
How To Ask Questions The Smart Way

And before you do that, edit your thread title to be a) more descriptive as to your actual problem, and b) remove the redundant plea for help.

Shot in the dark here, but do you have 8GB of RAM, and are you using yaourt or packer?

Re: [SOLVED] Too small disk, unable to boot.

I'm sorry jason...

I have 4 gigs of ram. No I don't use them.

Maybe it's best to reinstall system... But what if it will happen again?
Last thing I installed was virtualbox, was it the source of problems? I don't think so...

Re: [SOLVED] Too small disk, unable to boot.

Just seen you've updated your first post. There's still not a lot to go on here.

Could you the full output from fdisk, or 'parted /dev/sda print'. Also, mount your partitions and show us the output of 'df -h'.

There's no reason to reinstall.

Re: [SOLVED] Too small disk, unable to boot.

Please enclose the outputs in a code block so they'll be displayed in a monospace font.
(I'm thinking about what you can do)

Re: [SOLVED] Too small disk, unable to boot.

Something here is not adding up. fdisk and parted both say you only have one partition, and it's ~1000GB in size. df is saying that your root partition is 3.6GB. Somehow you've managed to create a <4GB filesystem on a ~1000GB partition. Kudos.

See if this helps: https://access.redhat.com/knowledge/doc … 4grow.html

Make sure you back up anything important beforehand though.
