can't get PCmanFM to automount

i'm trying to setup automounting. i use PCmanFM as file manager.

installed

  • pcmanfm

  • gamin

  • gvfs

  • udisks

  • polkit-gnome

i also added the polkit rule
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GVFS

even when pcmanfm runs as daemon, my usb drive is not mounted...

am i missing some thing? are all the packages i installed required?

Re: can't get PCmanFM to automount

As of May 24th, 2015, in a rainy Sunday morning, it still seems to be necessary to install udiskie to have auto-mounting working with PCManFM. I installed all the gvfs* packages, udisks2, started pcmanfm in daemon mode, and did a lot of research. Still, installing udiskie was what solved it for me as well.

I'm not sure if I should have opened another thread to say it, and then link to this one. In any case, I think this thread has helped a lot of people since it was opened.

There is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path.

A better place to share this information would be the wiki.
