Um... What happened to "View my recent posts"?! It's a real time-saver, if you're tracking threads for answers (to several questions at once, for example). Can we bring that back, please?

Did we ever have that? I certainly haven't removed it!

It was actually "View your posts", but since it had disappeared (Nov 4, 2005) -- honest, I tried all kinds of page reloads, etc. -- I was guessing it was called "View my recent posts".
...I certainly haven't removed it!
Looks like it's back. Thanks, mystery coder!
[EDIT]
On the main Forum Index page, uper, right-hand corner, it now looks like this:
View posts since last visit (193)
View your posts
View unanswered posts
View last: 12h - 24h - 48h
On Nov 4, it listed only:
View unanswered posts
View last: 12h - 24h - 48h

Perhaps a stupid question, but are you sure you were logged in when you noticed it was gone?

Erm. Not such a stupid question. You may have a very valid point, in fact. Moving along... Not much to see here.

Hehe...done it myself a few times

It is very unlikely that this unified header thing is ever going to be more than a passing priority. If you are interested in getting something sorted out then please get down to it. You seem to have a big mix of talent here so rather than all just doing your own thing and being combative about it I suggest you form a team and all work togther on it.
As far as requirements as far as Arch is concerned I'll just speak on Judd's behalf and say what I think he'd say:
We need somethin clean and organized that is in keeping with the themes of the different subsites. The header should allow space for the Arch Logo, google ads and the Arch tag line (i686 optim...). There should also be an individual sub header for each mini site that contains the relevant links e.g. here in the forums we have the user control panel, on the AUR and Home page we have the links to different areas - these should all be displayed in the same (sub) area of the header on each page.
The Dev Blog and Wiki maybe the hardest to integrate - the dev blog uses a 90% centered width so a 100% width header is gonna look a bit odd but should still be dooable. Also the whole art site could use a bit of a make over - I think that was added and then somewhat abandonned.
You can safely assume that minor changes to the site formats e.g. css or table alterations is totally acceptable.
That's about it. Personally, as I have said before, I would like to see a tab system to manage links to the other sites and I'd like to see elasticdogs icons put to get use.
Aside from that all I can say is hurry up! If you don't sort something out ASAP you'll never get it done + it's just not important enough to wait for!
Feel free to start your own forum discussion threads etc.
I would start by grabbing a screenie of each site chopping off the current header and deciding what what most quickly suit all of them. Create the basic template, based on the essentials I described above (with the tabs ) and then create the sub-header for each site. If necessary look for the source for the CMSs running each area - AFAIK homepage and AUR are just HTML based headers but others use PHP for menu generation (i.e. forum
)

Oh, and think about the 0.8 release...it won't be soon but a really solid web presence is gonna look pretty good whne that hits the streets

I apologize that I haven't done anything with this project as of yet. I've had a couple of 60-hour work weeks combined with a higher-than-usual workload at school, and thus no time for extra projects. I'm hoping things will slow down here soon and I can devote some time to it, but by all means I love seeing all the ideas that people are having with this...

While searching for design ideas i found this:

I have to say, the new gentoo look is awesome. Maybe it's time to change the entire Arch website look, but that so much work...

Will you accept some help with creating the new site?
I would like to make some contributions to website design and code. :-)

Not a new site, dude, well, not ATM. At the moment it is just a unified header for all Arch sub-domains and sites

Please add valid doctype!
And code needs some cleaning.
