(rtorrent) dumped core

I noticed just in the last week or so something weird is going on with rtorrent. When I close it a message pops up and it immediately closes, it closes so fast that I can't read what it says. However journalctl shows

(rtorrent) dumped core

Even worse is that when I last launched it a torrent I had going was not being loaded despite the torrent and .meta file existing in the designated directories.

Re: (rtorrent) dumped core

I was previously launching rtorrent through a keyboard shortcut that invoked urxvt -e rtorrent so when I was closing it, it was closing the terminal as well. I have tried just typing in rtorrent in the terminal normally, then closing it with the resulting message being thus:

Caught Segmentation fault, dumping stack:
Stack dump not enabled.
zsh: abort (core dumped) rtorrent

Without more info it's more of a guess, but if you have curl 7.29.0-1 installed try installing 7.29.0-2 from testing, it fixes a bug that might causes application using curl (like rtorrent) to segfault.
