[SOLVED]tap-to-click for the touchpad doesn't work in cinnamon

I just installed cinnamon on my pre existing arch linux os. I have xfce4 installed along side it and I switch between the two when I log in. I can't tap to click with my touch pad in cinnamon but I have that enabled in xfce4. I looked everywhere to see if I can enable it in cinnamon but I found nothing. Can anyone help me with this issue?

So. something works properly in archlinux, but doesn't in another distro, so you ask here?  Can someone help: the cinnarch forums could probably help.

It shouldn't matter which forum I ask the question... xfce and cinnamon both require arch linux..in many cases. xfce questions are asked alot.. so why not cinnarch.

You mean Cinnamon (user interface) or Cinnarch (distro)?

That is confusing. Please change the title of this thread to indicate you are referring to the DE and not the Arch Linux derived distribution (for which we do not provide support here).

I don't see a mouse or touchpad settings dialog in cinnamon like I do in xfce4. I am running the newest version of cinnamon... is there something I am missing?

go to dconf-editor and find the settings daemon. you can find the touchpad in the peripherals dialog.
